Meet the Quilter
"I have always had the simplest of taste, only the best will do!"

My name is Connie Hausdorf and my passion for quilts started when my Grandmother gave me a quilt when I was just a young teenager.  (It is well worn but I still have it!)  I thought then that "someday" I would make quilts for my own grandchildren. I began quilting nearly 30 years ago when my children were little. Quilting took a back seat while I raised our five children and while I worked too many hours each day in a business suit helping to support our family. Then one day I realized that "someday" had arrived for I now had six grandchildren to quilt for.

I love every part of the process of turning fabric into heirlooms or as I prefer to call them "pieces of the heart"!

Our home is located in a quiet farming community which is a small suburb of Boise, Idaho, which I lovingly refer to as being the "Island of Kuna off the coast of Boise". (Take out your map if you believe there really is a coastline anywhere nearby.) But for visitors, it makes them feel as if they are really going somewhere special. Kuna-matada!

It was my husband, Rudy, who noticed that we did not have a quilt on our bed yet and this 25 block sampler was the result of his astute observation.  The rose print fabrics demanded it be quilted with an edge to edge rose pantograph for a beautiful finishing touch.

My love of sewing has never compared to my love and passion for quilting. In my quest for knowledge and understanding I have taken many classes to further my skills and have attended Longarm University to gain a better understanding of my yearning to be the best longarm quilter that I can be, because, as always, only the best will do!

"He's A Sports Fan" ~ For little Jeffrey who's daddy is a jock. My vision of this quilt was to tie my son and his son together with sports. When Ed told me that they lay on Jeffrey's bed and "talk" sports my joy was full!

"A Day In Paris" ~ Award winning ribboned sampler. Yes, I really did let Megan take it with her to school.

"Little Bear" ~ Crib quilt for Mason

"Pinata" ~ This was on my design wall for months. It was for the daughter of our friend that owns the Mexican Restaurant in town. I liked it so much it was hard to give it away. When we gave it to him, he almost cried. And oh, there really is a design/pattern. Can you find it?
