General Information
Quilts will be stored in a safe non-smoking pet free environment. Quilting services are generally booked in a two to four week time frame, depending on the season and volume. Reservations are highly recommended to ensure a satisfactory completion timeframe.
Quilting designs should reflect elements in the quilt piecing and the fabric design so the overall effect of quilted texture unites the finished quilt. It’s not a quilt until it’s quilted!
The custom quilting charges are based on the type of pattern or patterns chosen and priced by the square inch, based on the total measurement of the quilt top. Please contact for a quote, the price will vary depending on the type of quilting design and the size of the quilt.
Pantograph Patterns
A pantograph is a pattern that repeats throughout the quilt from edge to edge and top to bottom.
Often called an overall pattern because the pattern is sewn over all the piecing and enhances the quilted with a wash of texture.
These designs are very effective with a variegated thread that picks up on the colors in the quilt. A pantograph can be very simple like a meander stitch to a very complex design.
The overall effect can be achieved with patterns that run off in rows or with patterns that repeat side by side in a one-block unit.
The price of pantograph designs are reflected in the complexity of design and level of difficulty or time to run off.
With many designs to choose from this is a very popular method of quilting.

Quilt Basting
A service just for hand quilters; have your quilt layered and basted ready for your hand quilting project. No need to use safety pins any more.

Custom Quilting
Some quilts like sampler quilts or block quilts with sashings, or other intricate quilts just don’t suit a pantograph design so individual work needs to be done on each block. Sashing patterns and borders require complimentary patterns and the seams will often require stitch in the ditch, often called “S.I.D”. to keep them from popping. Some extensive feathering work also falls into this category.
This type of quilting requires many stops and starts which means you have more thread ends to finish, plus it takes a considerably longer length of time to execute. Please note the seams of sashings and borders must be properly pressed to perform S.I.D. That is to say the seams must all be consistently pressed away from the blocks and seams pressed into the borders. Inconsistency will result in uneven stitching jumping in and out of the ditch.
